Every school in Wales must now have a school council, and CEWC-Cymru is helping to support this exciting development.
We believe that everyone should have the skills that enable them to take part in their school council. You don't have to be elected as a member of the council; you could ask your class or year representative to put forward your views.
We've developed lessons to help you improve the skills you need to take part in democracy, like expressing your opinion, working effectively in a meeting, and being able to compromise. The pack is called Skills for Democracy, and you can find out more here.
If your school council would like training on running successful meetings and promoting itself, please contact us. You can also visit www.schoolcouncilswales.org.uk, a website to which we've contributed.
