Model National Assembly for Wales

Ever wanted to be in charge of Wales for a day? Find out what it's like by getting involved in our Model National Assembly for Wales!

The event is held in the Crickhowell Building in Cardiff Bay - where the real Assembly used to debate.

When you arrive, we'll assign you a role as an Assembly Member (AM), civil servant or Minister. You'll then work with real-life policy makers to come up with a statement on an issue like drugs policy, Fairtrade or IT in schools. In the afternoon everyone sits together and debates the statements. You then vote on whether to accept or reject it.

This event enables you to work with students from other schools and to practise speaking and listening in a fun way! You don't need to be doing politics at school to take part, you don't need to do any special preparation - just turn up and be willing to discuss some important issues facing Wales today.
