If you're interested in Europe, and you want the chance to represent Wales or the UK in an international competition, then EYP is for you.
CEWC-Cymru runs two EYP events each year - one in north Wales and one in south Wales. The winning team from each takes part in a UK National Session. Some students from Wales have even represented the UK in sessions as far afield as Estonia!
You'll need a team of at least 6 students, aged 15-17 (unfortunately you can't be in Year 13). Each team is given the role of a European Parliament committee a few weeks before the event, and is asked to prepare speeches on one particular issue. Previous topics have included drug trafficking, refugee welfare, climate change and international security.
On the day, 4 or 5 topics will be discussed. As well as giving the speeches on your topic, you'll be expected to contribute to all of the other debates. The winning team will be the one that shows the best teamwork and speaks most convincingly.
EYP usually takes place in November - see our list of forthcoming events. If you'd like to take part, ask a teacher to contact us.
