CEWC-Cymru offers two types of debate training to students:


Debate Training Days

We organise two full-day events in September, prior to the regional rounds of the Wales Schools Debating Championships. Sponsored by Julian Hodge Bank, they include the following elements:

  • Demonstration debate with question-and-answer session
  • Workshops on Style, Content and Strategy (the three categories of assessment at the Wales Championships)
  • Guidance on effective preparation for debates
  • Short practice debates with feedback from experienced debaters

 

Debating workshops

We can visit your school and work with students in your classroom. For fully interactive workshops (recommended), the maximum group size is 35. For general talks on debating, there is no maximum size.

This service is provided free to Affiliate Member schools/colleges for the first 90 minutes (thereafter £25 per 30 minutes).

Non-members: free visits not available; £25 per 30 minutes.

Expenses to be paid in all cases.
