European Youth Parliament
European Youth Parliament (EYP) is an international initiative enabling young people to engage with European issues. Students represent different committees of the European Parliament and debate topics such as security, human rights, the arts, climate change and immigration.
CEWC-Cymru runs two EYP events each year: the North Wales Forum and South Wales Forum. Both usually take place in November, and every school in Wales is invited to send up to 6 students aged 15-17. If more than 10 schools apply in one region, we select 10 schools at random to take part. One team from each Forum is selected to take part in an EYP UK National Session the following school year, so students must be in Year 12 or below to be eligibile for the Wales sessions.
EYP requires team members to work together to demonstrate their skills of teamwork, communication and developing ideas. For further information, see Style of debate.
