Training

All of CEWC-Cymru’s training courses include discussion of educational theory and curriculum development, but their main focus is to provide practical ideas for the classroom.

We offer tried and tested in-service training in the following areas:

PSE and Global Citizenship
Courses that provide a general overview for colleagues exploring the global dimension in education.

Critical Thinking and Philosophy for Children
Our one-day courses consider the links between the development of critical thinking skills, PSE and global citizenship education. We also offer two-day certificated courses on Philosophy for Children.

School Councils and Democratic Participation
These courses focus on developing the skills required for effective participation. If you want to develop the potential of your school council, then we offer joint teacher-student training.

Debating in the Classroom
Courses which consider how debating can be used as a practical classroom tool to improve communication skills, group work and clearer thinking. Some courses are delivered in conjunction with the Wales Debating Federation.

Engaging Disadvantaged Students
Ideas for involving students in special schools, Pupil Referral Units and other settings in which citizenship education pose a particular challenge.
